My HEROINES Addiction

Every time I try to distance myself from this stupid group, I'll randomly get the uncontrollable urge to get back into them.

Since my last article ranting about how much I hate HEROINES's management, I've been trying to find other groups that'll keep my interest. And I've been pretty successful, I think. Chiquita has become my number one favorite group, which is the spot that used to belong to iLiFE!. Chiitan☆Bombers is a close second. But despite my efforts, I've crawled back to this cursed group once again. So lets just get into what's been going on in the world of HEROINES these days..

Now♡Storage, Nowsto for short, is a group produced by former CAL&RES member Misuzu Rika. I remember watching their debut live as it was happening and enjoying it for the most part, but the lack of content they had made me loose interest. But just over a week ago, they finally put out a dance practice video for their song, Muchu Uchu. It's produced by Nishino Masaya, who's helped create a bunch of other songs I frequently enjoy.  This one's no different. I'm a big fan of songs with chiptune-inspired elements, of which this song has lots of. The chorus is very catchy and has very cute choreography. But my absolute favorite part of this song is the instrumental interlude after the second chorus. They mix electric guitar riffs with chiptune-y type synths, it's very fun to listen to! This instrumental overall is very well crafted. The girls perform the song quite well, although some of them need to work on their expressions a bit. Kohana and Sera both have pretty good expressions throughout, but Pure barely moves her face even during her lines. It's just a bit distracting. But the performance is good overall, I'm sure we'll see them get more comfortable performing over time.

Umekomachi was very soon formed after Nowsto was. They belong to HEROINES's Fukuoka branch, and  have a total of eleven members! Which is, I think, the most out of every HEROINES group (not including Heroken). Their debut song is Suitouyo, which they of course put out a dance practice video of as soon as all the members were revealed. The chorus has a nice melody, although I think this song would've benefited from a less hyper instrumental. This song would've been very nice if it was calmer, but alas HEROINES doesn't make calm music anymore. Every song has to be as stimulating as possible. But it's an alright song, very catchy. I like the guitar during the interlude, wish that part was a bit longer though. The members perform it well, but this video is too damn bright!! It hurts my head and makes it harder to see the girls. They seem to have used some sort of fog machine to give the video this dreamy effect, but they did far too much.

Now onto HEROINES fifth (FIFTH!) debut of this year, iLiFE!'s second sister group, iMiN!. Why on Earth do they need so many groups?? They can barely manage the ones they've already got. But anyways...

Their debut song is Space Love. This song is probably the best out of the three I've shown you today. The instrumental is very nice, similar to Nowsto's it mixes electronic styles with rock. The chorus also has a very enjoyable melody that's nicely supported by the instrumental. The girls all have really nice singing voices and sound really good singing together. Their white member, Ive, was the first girl to sing. And the first thing that came to my mind was how similar this girl sounded to iLiFE!'s Ice, whom I love. They have the exact same tone and cadence! Furan also kind of sounds like Riri at some parts. Another thing I like about this dance practice is the set they used. The sparkly backdrop with that disco ball makes the video feel more distinct than the previous videos. A few of the girls have the same issue some of the Nowsto girls have though, uninteresting facials. But as idols do, I'm sure they'll improve as they film and perform more.

iMiN! is already available to listen to on streaming platforms, I'm not sure about the others. Hopefully they'll be on there before the inevitable white box of doom. But that's all the HEROINES I have for you today. Place your bets for which group you think is gonna get in some stupid controversy and loose a member first!! Furan and Late of iMiN! were already Deathdol'd during their time in the iLiFE! auditions. Who's that loser gonna come for next???
